Chemical Compatibility Test

Chemical Compatibility Test

The purpose of the chemical compatibility test is to evaluate the chemical impact of the filter medium on the filter device under specific process conditions.

Main Point:

  1. Chemical compatibility testing should cover the entire filter device, not just the membrane. (Interpretation: In addition to the filter membrane, its shell skeleton, sealing ring, and supporting diversion layer all need to be considered.)
  2.  Filter flow rate, contact time and temperature, etc.) should be considered .
  1. The test items of the chemical compatibility test generally include : visual inspection before and after the filter is in contact with the medium to be filtered; changes in the flow rate during the filtration process; changes in the weight/thickness of the filter membrane; changes in integrity test values such as bubble point before and after filtration; changes in the tensile strength of the filter membrane; confirmation by electron microscope scanning of the filter membrane, etc.
